Murdoch Mysteries

Written by  Maureen Jennings

The Detective Murdoch Mysteries are all set in Toronto in the last decade of the ninteenth century, and the author is brilliant at situating each novel within a major social issue of the era. Her stories are rich in vivid details and well-portrayed characters, giving readers not just a rattling good mystery, but a full immersion in the life and times of a late-Victorian city that straddles the old and new worlds.
