July 14, 1997Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni is the author of the novels Sister of My Heart, Before We Visit the Goddess, and Oleander Girl. She has also written the prize-winning story collections Arranged Marriage and The Unknown Errors of Our Lives. Divakaruni lives in Houston, Texas, and teaches creative writing at the University of Houston.
