  • ¾ cup (180 mL) all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup (125 mL) cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon (2.5 mL) salt
  • ¼ teaspoon (1 mL) baking soda
  • 1 cup (250 mL) brown sugar
  • ½ cup (125 mL) unsweetened applesauce
  • ½ cup (125 mL) plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 ounces (60 g) chocolate chips (or dark chocolate chunks), melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons (30 mL) vegetable oil


  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking soda.
  3. In another bowl, combine the brown sugar, applesauce, yogurt, melted chocolate, eggs, and vegetable oil.
  4. Using a spatula, gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients.
  5. Pour the batter into mini-muffin cups or mini-financier molds, and bake for 7 to 8 minutes.


  • Hubert' s Tip: You can also bake these brownies in an 8-inch (20 cm) square dish, but make sure to increase the cooking time to 30 to 35 minutes.
