Canada Reads is a literary contest hosted by the CBC in which five books are championed and discussed in a series of on-air radio debates. Canada Reads has consistently brought a lot of great attention and sales to the titles that are featured, and of course to the winner. This year’s theme for Canada Reads is One Book to Open Your Eyes. The books all challenge readers to look differently at themselves, their neighbours and the world around them.
A shortlist of five books will be announced January 30th and the debates will take place March 26-29th on CBC Radio One and online at CBCbooks.ca with CBC Laugh Out Loud’s Ali Hassan as host.
