Sunday Dinner at Robert’s: A Menu from Yotam Ottolenghi

Jerusalem, Ottolenghi, and Plenty More Book Covers

Yotam is a truly a great chef, a terrific author and now a friend. I was first introduced to his food in 2008 when I bought a copy of his book with Sami Tamimi, Ottolenghi: The Cookbook. Four years later, I became his Canadian Publisher and landed in Yotam and Sami’s test kitchen while I was in town for the London Book Fair and they were developing recipes for the sensational and groundbreaking cookbook, Jerusalem.

Yotam and I were able to catch up again this October when he stopped in Vancouver while touring his newest book, Plenty More. Here we are at the Jewish Community Centre for his sold out event.

Roasted Cauliflower & Hazelnut Salad

For last Sunday’s dinner, we served Roasted Cauliflower & Hazelnut Salad from Jerusalem (pg. 62), which has become a favorite around our house.

It’s a really beautiful salad. Here’s the close-up.

Honey-Roasted Carrots with Tahini Yogurt

I love roasted carrots and the recipe for Honey-Roasted Carrots with Tahini Yogurt from Plenty More (pg. 163) adds an unexpected twist. You can—and should—get the recipe here.

Chicken with Clementines & Arak

And the star of the meal was Roasted Chicken with Clementines & Arak from Jerusalem (pg. 179). Here it is after marinating overnight, just before we put it in the oven.

Roasted Chicken with Clementines & Arak

This is such a great dish for having company. Prep it in advance and spend the evening drinking wine with your guests. I recommend Campania Falanghina Terredora…it rocked!

We love the flavors and recipes from all of the Ottolenghi Cookbooks and are looking forward to Fall 2015 when he releases The NOPI Cookbook.

Stay tuned for next month’s test kitchen…to be announced!
