A wolfdog, born of two worlds, must learn to survive the cruelties of both.
White Fang is a wolfdog, born to a wolfdog mother and a full-blooded wolf father. Hunger and other wild beasts do away with his siblings and father, leaving just White Fang and his mother to fend for themselves. They are captured by a group of Native Americans who take them in, but White Fang cannot find acceptance among their other dogs and is forced to fall back on his wild instincts and ferocity to survive.

Born in 1876, he left school at the age of fourteen and worked in a cannery. By the time he was sixteen he had been both an oyster pirate and a member of the Fish Patrol in San Francisco Bay.
