The GGs & Who's Bloomin' Who?

Congratulations to the winners of the 2012 Governor General's literary awards! Linda Spalding, whom I interviewed for this blog earlier this year, was awarded the prize for fiction, and Susin Nielsen—interviewed by Hazlitt assistant editor Britt Harvey here—took home the prize for children's literature.

Sonya Chung is one of the best champions for literature's so-called “late bloomers” online or anywhere. Her Post 40 Bloomer series at The Millions has regularly alerted me to great reads, and also acted as an occasional and very necessary reminder that there's no rushing great work, 20 under 40 lists be damned.
